Kick diabetes away

Recent research in Faroe Islands reveals that football playing helps to stave off the development of type 2 diabetes among elderly patients already suffering from prediabetes.

In this study, control group only underwent dietary intervention, whereas study group also received football training. After 16 weeks, while control group had weight loss and lowered resting sugar level, study group was also able to reduce more fat and gain more muscle mass, improve blood circulation, as well as reduce the chance of developing cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes.
